SALTICE

SALTICE is a children’s opera with a unique aesthetic of origami and pop-up sculptures for all its costumes, props and scenography. The story, written by Susanne Felicitas Wolf, is inspired by the folklore of upper Austria, especially the salt mines and ice caves. The music composed by Ruben Zahra is scored for a children’s choir, string quartet, percussion and an electronic soundtrack. Three different artists from Japan, Wales and Germany have created artworks for SALTICE contributing a minimalist design which is reflected in the music as well as the choreography of Silke Grabinger.
